Sunrise on Bethany Beach

This painting was the culmination of my first formal art class, Painting with Acrylics.  I was fairly pleased with the results, especially considering how far I had come from the time the class began.  I have been asked on several occasions what the object on the beach is?  It is supposed to be a piece of driftwood which was included in the painting to provide some point of interest.  I really like the colors in this painting, especially when the source of light is behind the canvas which lights up the translucent nature of the sun’s rays.  TO
